Shaheer Hashim
Senior Frontend Engineer
I’m a Senior Frontend Engineer at MonieWorld, where I architect and build the frontend systems behind global cross-border payments. When real money is moving, reliability isn't a nice-to-have. It's a responsibility.
I went from a junior developer maintaining CRM integrations to founding frontend engineer at a fintech unicorn processing £30M+ in cross-border transactions, with a 99.6% success rate and 90% fewer production bugs. That journey wasn't a straight line, and it wasn't always intentional. For years, I did the bare minimum. I didn't take ownership. I was afraid to take initiative. The shift came when I stopped treating my work as something to endure and started treating it as something worth doing well.
I started in 2019 Rolustech, building enterprise CRM integrations connecting businesses with Stripe, Google Workspace, Twilio, and DocuSign. That grounded me in the fundamentals: working with real clients, turning requirements into working software, and learning that great engineering is about solving real problems, not chasing tools.
In 2021, curiosity pulled me into Web3. At myNFT, I built multichain NFT marketplace interfaces and wrote my first smart contracts, which pushed me to think differently about state, ownership, and user trust. That led me to Unlockd, a DeFi lending protocol where I built frontends for NFT-backed loans. Every interface decision had real financial consequences.
Today, at MonieWorld, I bring all of that into fintech. I built the entire frontend from the ground up: cross-border payments, card management, recipient systems, and a dynamic bill payment engine that launches new providers with zero code changes. I pioneered Behavior-Driven Development company-wide and established testing standards that gave us 90% unit and 95% E2E coverage. I care about building systems that are dependable, scalable, and thoughtfully designed, because when it comes to people's finances, there is very little room for error.
I write about production-grade frontend engineering, testing strategy, and systems thinking for engineers. If you want to see how I think, explore my thoughts and projects, or connect with me on GitLab, GitHub, X/Twitter, Bluesky, and LinkedIn. You can also send me an email.
